1. Overview
This policy describes what information the PDFHub team (the "Operator") processes when you use the PDFHub mobile application (the "App"), why we process it, how long it is kept, and the rights you have. We comply with applicable laws, including the GDPR where it applies to you.
2. Information we do NOT collect
- Name, email address, or other contact details — the App has no accounts or sign-up.
- The contents of your documents — PDFs and other files stay on your device and are never uploaded.
- Images you scan with the camera — scanning and document detection run on-device.
- Text recognized by OCR — text recognition also runs on-device and is never transmitted.
- Precise location — the App does not request location permissions.
- Payment details (card numbers, etc.) — payments are handled by Google Play / the App Store; the App has no access to them.
3. Information collected automatically
While you use the App, the following data may be collected automatically through third-party services (SDKs):
| Data | Purpose | Processor |
|---|---|---|
| Advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID / iOS IDFA), device information (model, OS version, language), IP address (which may be used to estimate an approximate region), ad interaction data | Serving and measuring ads (which keep the App free) | Google AdMob |
| App usage data (screens viewed, feature events), app-instance identifier, device information | Usage statistics and product improvement | Google Firebase (Analytics) |
| Crash logs, diagnostics, device information | Detecting errors and improving stability | Google Firebase (Crashlytics) |
| Purchase history (subscription product ID, purchase receipt token), a randomly generated anonymous user identifier | Verifying and restoring subscription status | RevenueCat |
Google ML Kit, used for document scanning and text recognition (OCR), runs entirely on-device and does not send images or recognition results anywhere.
4. Third-party privacy policies
- Google (AdMob, Firebase, ML Kit): policies.google.com/privacy
- Firebase data processing: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- RevenueCat: revenuecat.com/privacy
5. Retention and deletion
- Automatically collected data is retained according to each processor's policy. Usage statistics accessible to the Operator (Firebase Analytics) are retained for up to 14 months; crash logs are deleted after 90 days.
- Subscription-related data is kept for as long as needed to verify and restore your subscription.
- Uninstalling the App deletes all on-device data (documents, annotations, settings).
6. Your rights and choices
- Opt out of ad personalization — Android: Settings > Google > Ads (reset or delete your Advertising ID) / iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking (withdraw permission).
- Change your ad consent (GDPR regions) — you can revisit your choices any time via Settings > "Privacy options" in the App.
- Request data deletion — contact us at the address below and we will delete the data within our reach (analytics and diagnostics data) without undue delay. Resetting your advertising ID also unlinks previously collected ad data.
- You may exercise access, rectification, and restriction requests the same way.
7. International transfers
Data listed in Section 3 may be processed on servers operated by Google and RevenueCat (including in the United States). Each processor applies lawful safeguards such as standard contractual clauses under its own policy.
8. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Security
All network communication is encrypted with HTTPS (TLS). Your documents are never stored on a server — they remain in the App's private storage on your device.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will post the updated version and its effective date on this page. Material changes will additionally be announced in the App.
